Derek sat back from Zoey, giving her some more personal space as he watched her open it. The folder continaed every single bad thing he had done in it. None of hurting women or children. Just getting into fights with adult men or teenage guys. It continued on how he was abused by his mother and how she beat him nearly to death one day for not doing as she told him and he yelled at her, by sticking up for himself.

Zoey read what was in the vanilla folder and she frowned as she heard how Derek's mother beat him and how he almost killed a police officer.As she finkshed looking over the stuff she layed the vanilla folder between them and then looked up at Derek with a nervous look in her eyes telling him she was still scared around him."Y...you t.tried...t.to...k.kill...
s.someone."She said in a nervous voice and looked down at her lap.

Derek looked down, ashamed of himself. 'Yes.. b.. but it was for a good reason Zoey.. He was trying to take me away to jail for something i didn't do.. my mom lied to him and said i hurt her.. i would never hurt my mom.. then he tried hitting me so i fought back.. i lost control.. i didnt want to kill him.. i just wanted him to leave me alone and leave...' He pulled his knees up onto the couch and wrapped his arms tightly around them, laying his head on them. He was starting to get depressed now. His shy side showing more and more.

Zoey listened to Derek talk as he tried to explain everything about why he tried to almost kill the police man but she hugged her knees closer to her chest as she got nervous.As she heard him stop talking she bit her lip nervously as she tried to think of something to say.She knew she needed to she was okay with it but really she wasn't.

Zoey saw Derek move his hand over to hers and petted her hand very slowly and softly.As she listened to Derek talk she frowned and lightly laced her fingers with his.She didn't want to end there relationship because of her but she was scared like he said she was."I..it's not...y.your fault...t.that I...I'm scared."She said in a nervous shaky voice.

Zoey let out a shaky breath as she listened to Derek ask why she was scared and rub her hand with his thumb."I'm...scared...y.you'll...h.hurt m.me...a.and...t.then...l.leave.
"She said in a nervous shaky voice.She didn't like the people in her life leaving her because she always blamed it on herself.And she was also nervous that if she said something wrong to Derek he would treat her the same way her Uncle did.

Derek looked at her slightly shocked but stayed completely calm. 'Zoey.. i would never hurt you then leave you.. I care about you.. why would i ever do that.. something so mean when i was abused already.. i wouldnt want it to happen to anyone else.. especially to someone i care about..'

Derek squeezed his knuckles hard until they turned a very pale white color. 'Zoey.. i.. i would never do that.. i wouldn't of kissed you, hugged you, tried to calm you down, or.. or told you everything about me if i didn't love and care about you.. i swear to god and on my life i would never do that to you.. your the only person in this entire place that i trust because of how i feel about you, how were the same almost with a few differences..' He looked down.

Zoey listened to Derek talk about how he would never leave or hurt her and she bit her lip nervously.She didn't really trust him just yet and she tried to search in his voice to find any joking but she could and blushed.She nodded nervously after he finished speaking and continued to bit her lip.

Derek gulped wondering if she would believe him. He was telling the absolute truth, but still didn't know if she would ever trust him again. His fingers started to turn more white then ever as he continued to squeeze them hard, trying to stay calm, even though he was perfectly calm.

Zoey looked at Derek as he looked down and she continued to bite her lip because she was wondering if he was upset with her answer."D.D.Derek?"She asked in a nervous voice.She didn't like it when some one was upset over some thing she did because when she did some thing wrong her uncle would have hit her or yelled at her.
